|Born in Willoughby, Ohio in 1964 Thom Sivo has shown an interest in art and photography his whole life. After graduating from Wickliffe High School in 1983, Thom left the Cleveland area to serve in the United States Navy. During his over 12 years of service as a Navy Cryptologist, Thom spent a significant amount of time stationed in Japan. His continued self study in photography combined with service in the Pacific eventually led to an intense interest in landscape and architectural photography.
In 1995, Thom decided to leave the Navy and follow his interest in photography. He began his career in photography by assisting and studying under several of the areas top photographers. He was then contracted by a local studio photographing home interiors and exteriors for a local real estate television show.
In 2000, Thom expanded his career in the direction of published pieces for a number of magazines and corporate marketing pieces locally and nationally. The Ohio Press Club has awarded Thom for a number of his editorial published pieces.
Thom has built his client base with a number of top Cleveland companies and not for profit organizations. The challenge of photographing for these clients has diversified his subject matter from his primary architectural/interior photography to include corporate/political/private events and portrait/product photography used for advertising and promotional purposes in print and the internet.
